Due to its special composition, Plastic Fix enables extremely fast bonding of almost all plastics. It is the perfect solution for the automotive industry, where it is often desirable to glue things quickly and professionally.
Plastic Fix has some unique properties that allow the gluing of plastic parts on which it is very difficult to create a good bond. Repairs that used to take a lot of time can be carried out professionally in less than no time with Plastic Fix.
Clamping is only necessary for a short time or often not at all. This makes Plastic Fix extremely suitable for quick repairs and all types of emergency repairs. Due to the good stability and optimal open time, the product is also perfect for vertical repairs.
The unique composition of Plastic Fix makes that any connection joint will take on the colour of the glued part and will not turn white.
Plastic Fix is very easy to use and can be dosed very accurately thanks to the handy dual cartridge and the use of the Mixer Gun. The special Innotec Mixer Nozzle always ensures the right mixture proportions and prevents the remaining product from hardening in the cartridge. This means that an already opened cartridge of Plastic Fix can still be kept for a long time.
- Base: 2 component polyurethane
- Density: ± 1160 kg/m³
- Consistency: Pasty
- Hardness: ± 75 (Shore D)
- Tensile strength: ± 15 N/mm² (according to DIN 53504)
- Elongation at break (%): ± 35% (according to DIN 53504)
- Temperature resistance: -40°C to +95°C
- Water resistance: Good
- Application conditions: +5°C to +35°C
- Type of surface: Almost all plastics. Difficult to glue plastics with a low surface energy, such as PE, PP, ... excluded.
- Surface preparation: The surface must be clean, dry and free of grease. The best result is achieved when the surface is sanded/roughened, degreased with Innotec Repaplast Cleaner Antistatic and pre-treated with Innotec Repaplast Primer.
- Application method: Ensure that all tools you will need for during the repair or bonding process are ready, as Plastic Fix dries quickly. Fix the mixer nozzle to the twin cartridge. When using a new cartridge, always squeeze out and discard the first 2 centimetres to guarantee an optimal mix of Plastic Fix. Do not remove the mixer nozzle after use; only replace it the next time you want to use the product, in order to prevent residual product from hardening in the cartridge. Gather the parts to be glued and roughen or sand the contact surfaces. Clean the parts using Innotec Repaplast Cleaner Antistatic (see instructions for use). Apply Plastic Fix onto the surface using the mixer nozzle and join the parts to be glued together as quickly as possible, within 10 seconds. Fix the connection for a short time until Plastic Fix has built up sufficient strength. After 10 minutes, Plastic Fix can be machined by, for example, milling, drilling, tapping, etc.
- Open time: 25 seconds (20°C / 50% relative humidity)
